Oops...

After church, we went to the Hurricane for lunch.  It was a little hot in the
sun, so Cora and Mamaw made hats out of their napkins- what a hoot!
So, there's an 'urban legend' that there's a ship's boiler that is out on the
Gulf, and that it is a popular hidey hole for lobsters....seeing how its
lobster season, we had to piece together all of the clues to try and find
it.  Near the danger sign marking the shoals, about 400 feet north...
Say hi to Karie, wife of Matt, our new friends here.
They live on their 34 Endeavor catamaran.
The plan was to drop Donnie in the water, and Matt would drive a grid
pattern in search of the boiler filled with lobster (aka, 'snipe').
The problem was the current was screaming trying to pull us through
the bridge, and Donnie made one heckuva sea drogue.
And then the adventure really began...Matt ran out of gas in the dink. Oops.
Good thing we're usually up for an adventure!
Plan A, paddle for shore, hitch a ride to Banana Bay, and bring our dink back
with some gas.  Plan B- paddle like hell to the nearest lobster pot, tie off, and call
for help!  The current was ridiculously strong- no way they could have ever made it
to shore- about a half a mile away.  Good thing Matt had his cell phone!
Tired from paddling, patiently waiting for help, but still smiling :)
Thank the good Lord for Larry and Bonnie- they brought the FULL
gas tank that was on our dinghy!
Should have known something like that would happen-
it's a full moon!
