DOLPHINS!

The day dawned beautifully, and we had a boat ride with Danny and
Biddi on the docket today.  How many captains does it take to
cast off at the dock?!
Saying 'bye to Marquesa...
She looks pretty, and a little on the
small side :/
A beautiful day to be out on the water, nearly 80 degrees, flat calm
again today, and a slight breeze.  The prettiest day so far :)
And look who paid us a visit!  They were two of the biggest dolphins
I've ever seen on the Gulf.  They played in Danny's bow wake for
about 45 seconds.  I caught their pic just as they were leaving.
Saw this feller in the mangroves as we were coming into Boot Key.
Burgers and fries at Burdine's for lunch- yay!
Danny sure has a gentle touch working his two engines...lays it against
the dock nice and easy every time- time for lunch!
Biddi and I were anxiously awaiting our deep fried key lime cheesecake- OMG!
We left Burdine's for a cruise by Boot Key Harbor, where you'll find
sailboats from all over the world, spending the winter safely tucked
in here.  Very few mooring balls seem to be left. The place is almost full.
We cruised up Sister's Creek, past Whiskey Creek, and came out
by beautiful Sombrero Beach in Marathon.
We went to Sombrero Reef and picked up a mooring ball, hoping to
get in the water with our dive gear.  There seemed to be about only
10 ft. of vis, not hardly worth it.  Opted for a pleasant ride back home :)
We had about an hour to spare before we were to meet up with Matt and Karie for a movie tonight.  The company was great, the movie was dark- The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.  I'm hoping I don't have nightmares over it.  Looking forward to sleeping in, and figuring out my new phone :)  It just came Fed Ex this afternoon.  Donnie plans to get his hookah from Dave's tomorrow and get it up and running.  No, it's not the type of hookah you are likely thinking of :)  It's a little gas engine in a float, that has three 60 ft. regs attached.  It allows three divers to get in the water with surface supplied air- no need to wear a tank on your back.  It will be fun to play with in the Bahamas :)  G'nite all!

  1. The kids saw the same movie over Christmas. Kathryn is reading the books. I heard that it has very dark scenes. Not one for me. Bonnie was very upset after the movie.

Now a movie that ya'all need to see is War Horse. We saw it New Year's Eve with friends. Great way to tell a story from the horse's point of view and every one he interacts with. Another great one from Spielberg.
