Busy day!

Lots of pictures to tell the stories...time to tackle a number of errands and projects...
While trying to find a replacement battery for Donnie's cordless drill,
we came across these guys...hey kids, what are they?! Anybody?!
We stopped by to see the folks while we were out and about, and Mamaw
dropped a line in the canal...something big was jumping.  She didn't catch it :(
Donnie borrowed Danny's drill to drill some holes in the bottom of a few
of my pots.  While he was shopping at the Home Depot, I was in the
garden center, getting supplies to start my garden- yay!
Diane had given me a tomato plant that's well on it's way, and I planted
basil, cilantro, parsley, oregano, rosemary, chives, and dill- and
a pretty geranium and marigold for good measure. Makes me happy :)
Willis T was out and about today, too.  The big purchase of the day was a new
TV!  We went from a 15" to a 22", and on a sailboat, you'd think we had a
50" plasma!  It was time for a new one; the previous owner of Marquesa
had installed the previous one, and we have had the boat for three years, so
it was about time- the Stiers would have my back on this one!
While Dad was busy installing, Willis was busy flopping in the cockpit.
Nothing like over 100 channels and HDTV on a sailboat :)
Dad, don't forget to program Animal Planet!!!
Willis was watching the dozen Catalina 22's that were
leaving the marina.  They were guests of Banana Bay for
the weekend and having a two day Regatta.  They came
from as far away as Atlanta, GA.
Looking out on the Gulf reminded us of a Sunday afternoon at
Prairie Creek Reservoir- good memories, great people at MSC.
The next chore of the day was Donnie diving under the
boat to scrape the barrnacles off.  Next year, we're
storing Marquesa up on the hard.  After the cold snap
last week, the water temp has dropped to about 68 degrees.
I also got Mr. Fix It to install the container I got to store
plastic grocery bags- my galley is complete :)
As the Catalina 22's came in from their regatta, they looked small next to
most of the 40'+ boats here at Banana Bay.  To look at them in comparison,
Donnie and I both said, "It's hard to believe we crossed Lake Michigan
in a storm, overnight, with two kids and a dog in a boat that small!"
BTW, the winner was a yellow boat named "Chicken Ship"- clever.
After all of Captain's hard work for the day, he deserved to unwind at Dan
and Biddi's chili supper and football party- the playoffs have started.
Here's Larry, the Dockmaster, his fiance, Bonnie, and Karie.
Yep, Cap'n Donnie was having a good time :)  Really, he's harmless...
Biddi and I had a good time too- I promise, I only drank water. Truly.
The plan tomorrow is to go to church, and take a dink ride with Matt and Karie.
See you then!!!

  1. Yea buddy with the TV. I am surprised you lasted 3 years with the other one. You know we wouldn't have.

Glad to see that your still alive, after 3 days of no posts, we were beginning to wonder.

    love ya skeet
