clown box :P

I worked on sorting tax receipts this morning, then spent the rest of the morning putting two coats of teak oil on the topsides.  The teak now has a rich red finish.  Marquesa is starting to look all dressed up; new sails, new canvas, and by Monday of next week, a new Bessie!  Can I get some volunteers to wax her?

Three times is a charm!  No leaks and the dink has never looked so good.  Cap'n figured out a way to get the lifejackets, dry bag and such properly stored so it doesn't lay in salt water, which makes the First Mate very happy.  Tomorrow he is going to spray a rubber seal on the bottom and put the outboard motor and fuel tank back on.  Then Willis will be ready to go for a dinghy ride- finally!  He has been patiently waiting, and staring at it longingly.  No joke.
We took a mid afternoon break for a game of chickenfoot with friends and family by the pool.  Donnie was the winner of the rubber chicken again. Ken was upset that he didn't win because he wanted to take her home and throw a couple of loose eggs on her...he'lll have to win the bird fair and square.  After that, we came back to the boat and Donnie stripped the cockpit table for me with Kenny's heat gun.  Tomorrow I will sand it down and then varnish it.
Friday night pizza night with Kenny and Fran, which was really a ploy to put together Kenny's new dock box!  Believe me, it took the both of them with 'help' from the peanut gallery to get this monstrosity together!
It's not a dock box, it's a spare bedroom!
No, it's not a dock box, it's a duck blind!  Kenny had itchy trigger finger just thinking about it!
No, it really is the US Bobsledding team, Keys style!!!  What do YOU do for your Friday night fun?! G'nite y'all!
