Chillin' and jammin'

Today was our last chance to get to the reef for some snorkeling, but that didn't happen.  If we had left early this morning, we might have made it out there before the wind kicked things up.  Instead we hung out at the pool.  We're showing off our pedi's here- Grandma, Momma, and Emma :)
It was a hot one today, so we spent most of the time in the pool.  Not that we were complaining!
Any day for making memories with family is a good day.
Emily sure has gotten a beautiful tan this trip.  Ellie bug would be jealous ;)
Late in the day, we ate pizza out at Paradise Pointe, then listened to music.
Donnie and Bryan were having a practice jam session to get ready for their gig on 2/21.
After about an hour, we girlies bailed on them to go see Silver Linings Playbook.  Good flick!
The party was breaking up soon after we got back.  I guess we missed out on some fun. At one point there were three guitars, a banjo player, and the bass player (who also switched out to a mandolin and harmonica sometimes).  Cool story about Dan, the bass player- he was asked to get a bass player for a gig, but only had three days to do it.  He couldn't find one, so he went to Home Depot, bought some supplies, and built his own!  It sounded great, and he's really good!  There is so much talent here in the Keys.
Tomorrow is Emily's last full day (Danny calls her Emma-lie :) so we have a beach party planned.  I think there will be 16 of us grilling out, playing hillbilly golf and dominoes, and whatever mischief we can get ourselves into.  We'll be leaving early Monday morning to take her back to Miami airport.  After this week of all the goings and doings, this Momma is gonna need some rest!  I also need to sequester myself on Marquesa for a couple of days to get the taxes done and sent to our accountant.  Then I can get back to being 'semi-retired', lol.

On a side note, after Donnie and I came in from dancing last evening, Willis slipped out for some dancing of his own at the Kit Kat Go Go Lounge.  He did not slink back to Marquesa until dawn.  Though the boat was open all day, the boy never moved from Dad's pillow until the sun was beginning to set.  For that, he got locked up in the boat with us for the night tonight.  Dern cat.  G'nite, y'all!

  1. What a beautiful day that was to make delightful memories! Look at you, all smiling and sporting a lovely tan. It seems like the summer of that year was well spent for all of you, and it’s good to see that you all had a lot of fun. I hope most of your summers will be spent as wonderful as this one. Have a great day!
