not a dern thing...

...was accomplished today.  I guess we all need a "do nothing" kind of day every now and then.

The three boys managed to all get haircuts today, thanks to Diane.
That's the only thing that got accomplished!
We then went to Kenny's to go for a quick boat ride.  He wanted to try out his new prop and see if he could get his Wellcraft up on plane...

It was a sunny, beautiful 83 degree day for a boat ride :)

We cruised by the boat house.  It's literally, a boat house.  Very cool.

US Customs and Immigration went by us heading out to sea-
all 900hsp on those quad 225 outboard engines- Wow!

Throttle down, and....nothing.  It felt like the prop was slipping.
The pelican was moving faster than we were.  Back to the dock we go.

The boys got out the tools, took the prop off, beat on a few things,
scratched and fussed, put it back on again, and....

...away we go again.  Take two.

I've never been through the Key Colony Beach area from the water.  I
was starting to recognize the channel markers...

Throttle down again...and...still slipping.  Back to the dock- again.
Three heads are better than one, and I heard somebody say,
"Did you look at the directions?"  It's a guy thing.

Heading back out through the channel markers for
a third time, it seemed as if the rooster gods were
smiling upon us.  Kenny LOVES roosters.
Not enough love, apparently. Throttle down
for the third time, and still slipping.

It's now three hours later, and the boys give up and put the old prop back on.  We all have just an hour left before we have to meet up at the Iguana Grill in Knight's Key for Friday Night Pizza Night.

Lisa and Sal are friends of Nancy and Ron's from New Jersey.  They
are running the Iguana Grill for the season, and are doing an amazing job :)

Big Ron and Chuckie-baby are back in town, so there were
12 of us for dinner- we managed to put away five large
pizzas- the shrimp and bacon pizza was a favorite
for both Ron's.  I ate just one piece to save room for
a chocolate ice cream cone ;)

This was the last of Nancy's birthday celebration...afterall, we are now
in the month following her birthday!  It's always a good time and a lot
of laughs when we all get together :)

Donnie and I bid our goodbyes after dinner, and took the blue piglet to Mamaw and Paps to check on them.  Mamaw is finally breaking down and seeing a doctor tomorrow (I'll bet it's bronchitis).  We watched the opening ceremony of the Olympics with them, and called it a night.  On a side note, what was up with the United States' outfits?!  It looked like my great grandma knitted them ugly sweater blazers. Sweater blazers?!  Seriously, I swear we have the worst outfit for every Olympic Games....we have tons of talent, designer talent, here in the US, and that's the best they could do?!  I think Olympic outfits should be the next challenge on Project Runway- those designers could "make it work"!  Polo, evidently, did not.

We got back to the boat late, and I found this in the
cockpit.  It took me a minute to figure it out-
Peter and Rita are here!  They are our friends from
Maryland via the Czech Republic :)  We'll be
glad to see them- hopefully tomorrow!

So, we really did not accomplish a whole heckuva lot today.  We wore our workout clothes and never did make it to the gym.  That's first on the agenda tomorrow- to the gym, then the grocery, then we'll see what the rest of the day will bring.  The weather has been in the 80's with southerly breezes for days, so it's bound to be a good day no matter what we do- even if it's nothing at all.  G'nite, y'all!
