Day sail

After a quick trip to Big Pine Key for the Flea Market and a few more
items on our 'needs' list for Marquesa, our friend Dave was there to
help us cast off the dock for our day sail out to Sombrero Reef.
Momma's at the helm while Donnie sets the sails.
Mainsail is up!
Jib is up; Bessie is off!
Paps is getting a lesson on our new Garmin touchscreen GPS-
what a fun toy!!!
Approaching the Seven Mile Bridge, and that was an interesting pass.
One lobster boat was being towed by another just as we both passed through.
The guy broken down was fully loaded with pots.
Lobster season ends in six days.
Our two bow babes chatted it up all the way to the reef!
It was such a beautiful sail, we went beyond the reef to the blue water,
over 100 ft. deep.  We should have trolled for tuna or dolphin :)
I wonder what's on these two's minds after 60 years of marriage?
Love it!!!
Momma is back at the helm while Cap'n scopes out a mooring ball to pick
up.  Though the reef was packed with snorkelers and divers, the vis
was a good 50 feet, and the reef was alive with colorful fish.
I have to say it was the best snorkel I've ever been on, and Steph did great :)
The yellowtail were there to greet us, and a big barracuda.  You
should have seen Stephanie's back roll into the water, lol!  Graceful :P
Halls, Tilden's, and all the local dive shops had charters out on the
reef, even the Pirate Lady had taken a group out.  Cool schooner.
After our dive, we sailed north to pass Sombrero Beach, and up
Sister's Creek. We sailed by some beautiful homes.
I love the infinity pool on the side of this one...
We sailed to Burdine's for dinner, where Stephanie got to
experience deep fried key lime pie :)  the.best.keylime.pie.best.ever.
waiting for the sun to set...
It's looking to be a beautiful one :)
shoot...some low lying clouds got in on the action.
still a gorgeous evening sky...
My turn to get a lesson on the chartplotter.
Stephanie's turn to contemplate the world...
Your turn to see our power sources, solar and wind, when we are
living off the grid in the Bahamas in a week or so :)
Sassy cat's turn to contemplate...who knows what?!  G'nite y'all :)
