big blow

It was a lazy Sunday, for the most part.  We didn't make it to church, as this morning a big blow came up.  Lots of wind, steady 30-35 mph, with gusts even higher.  We are in a wind advisory until 6pm tonight.  Once again, the wind was out of the W/NW, so Biddi and the Beast offered no protection. We were slammin' against the wall, so we needed to stay with Marquesa today.
One gallon Don, and his son, Justin, came to offer their help in the driving
rain and wind.  We needed to get more lines out, and additional fenders.
They also secured Biddi and the Beast since Danny was at work.
Thankfully, we have a post to our port side to tie an additional line
to pull us off the dock.  Difficult to do in 30+ winds!
It was looking pretty ugly out there...Willis was in hiding.
He does NOT like it when Marquesa is rockin' and rollin'.
At least he did not get seasick.

In spite of the ugliness, it was a beautiful sunset. The wind has eased, too.

A stable boat makes for a very happy Willis.  He's ridiculous.

Dinner's ready- BBQ chix, garlic smashed potatoes, salad, and wine :)

This afternoon, Donnie did manage to give the boat a good scrubbing.  She was in bad need of a bath.  After I sanded and oiled all the teak up top yesterday, the sanding dust stuck to the salty topsides. I had pics to show you before and after, but my camera has mysteriously disappeared.  I have torn up the boat and car looking for it.  I have a feeling it ended up in the drink like my phone did last month.  I can't see into the water so well for the wind and waves.  That, and the fact that a north wind has blown all the sea grass back into the marina.  All this week the wind was out of the south, and it had blown the fermented grass back out to sea. Unfortunately, the forecast for the next three days is wind, wind, and more wind, 20-35mph, continuing from the N/NE. Not so good for fishing, diving, or even sailing, so it looks as if we should be able to tackle more boat projects before Ellie bug gets here on Friday- yay!!!  Got to go do dishes- g'nite y'all.
