Gone sailing

Today was the perfect day for a sail, winds out of the east at about 5-10 knots, and the Gulf was fit for water skiing it looked so calm. Time to get the folks and Cowboy Dean out for a sail :)

Engine's off, sail's up, sky is blue- perfect!

Jean's happy!

Swimmer Dean got to dive in to release a lobster pot from our
strut- he's happy! The three lobsters in the pot- not so happy.
(Yes, we left them in there, though it was tempting!)

Anytime Cap'n is at the helm, he's happy!

Poor Willis....not happy at all.  He got sick
again.  At least it was on his mat and not all
over the boat.  I found him in the head with
his nose to the drain, looking all pitiful.
He just can't seem to get his sea legs :(

After grilling brats for lunch on the boat, we sailed back to Banana Bay.  I chose to ride back with Mac and Jean to their condo to get my coleslaw and fried potatoes made for the cookout tonight.  Donnie and Dean stayed back to go to the pool for a bit.  Their plan was to pedal, pedal, pedal our clown bikes over to Mac and Jean's in time for the fish fry.  Donnie's bike met its final demise near the Publix parking lot.  It literaly fell apart in pieces, first the handlebars, then the front tire, part of the frame, with bearings and pieces flying out.  He said it looked like the hand of God came down and thumped his bike!  Fortunately he jumped off in time to avoid getting hurt, and Paps came to their rescue by car.   Donnie's clown bike has not been the same since the old guy nearly ran him over and up a curb in the Home Depot parking lot a few weeks ago.

What a sad, sorry, turn of events!

Poor Donnie must have been a bit rattled from
the clown bike mishap.  He was in charge of the
fryer for the fish, but in his haste to drop the
sweet potato fries, he forgot the basket.
They were still mighty tasty, and the mangrove
snappers tasted wonderful!

After dinner, Donnie and Bryan trated us to a concert. Here
they are singing love songs to each other- again.  I am
almost starting to get jealous over their love affar- almost.

Toward the night's end, Donnie broke his E string...so that should cool off the affair for a few days until he can get his guitar restrung!  Tomorrow is Dean's last day...and we have a big day planned.  Polly offered to take us to the Dolphin Research Center as her guests, then we're doing either the beach or the pool in the afternoon, and crab claws at sunset down at Key Fisheries for dinner.  Looks to be a promising day in paradise!
