8 miles on the 7 Mile Bridge

We started the morning with French toast for breakfast at Café Marquesa, and mapped out our plans for the day.  We decided to round up bikes for everyone from our friends in the marina.  The plan was a three mile pedal out to the Seven Mile Bridge, walk the bridge looking for some cool stuff (like a shark swimming by, maybe?!) and then pedal, pedal back to the marina in time for lunch.  It all was sounding like exercise to me...
Ellen consulted a very sleepy Willis about our plans to
see if he wanted to go along for a ride.
...he was not the least bit interested, as he had only gotten to bed from
his late night prowl a few hours before!

While it may appear that I am smiling in this pic, the fact of the matter is
I was merely trying to catch my breath after the three mile bike ride :(

We have random family pictures with signs in all of our
family vacations. We must keep up the tradition...silly girl.

After a three mile bike ride to the bridge, a two mile walk on the bridge, and
another three mile's ride back to the marina, and we never saw ONE ocean
creature, wouldn't you know, we saw a nurse shark on our dock as we were
walking back to Marquesa! Just my luck, I could have saved all myself
from all of that terrible E-word (exercise).

In the afternoon, Greg and Donnie went lobstering, (they got four tails!)
while we girls sat by the pool.  Late in the day, we took Kenny and Fran,
and their friends, John and Marge, and Greg, Wanetta, & Elle for a sunset sail.
We enjoyed drinks and snacks on a very pleasant sail.  Wanetta is all
smiles as she didn't need her Dramamine as the Gulf was  nearly flat calm.

Yet, again, Willis did not get seasick.  Must have been
because he was so busy working the mainsail sheet!

Ellie bug had the cat bird seat up on the bow...
notice how calm the Gulf is- like a farm pond!

Look closely!  We got into a pod of dolphins just before sunset :)

And yet another perfect sunset to end another perfect day in paradise!
Many of us saw the green flash, too :)  After we got tied down, the boys
grilled their lobster tails, with hot dogs of all things.  What a crazy
combination...but were they ever happy feasting on their catch of the day!
