Happy Birthday, Momma!

This morning Donnie and I left bright and early with Matt & Karie for the Islamorada Nautical Flea Market.  I have been under the weather yesterday and today, but we had a 'to get' list for Marquesa, so I plowed through with the best of the fleas.  It was a bust.  There seemed to be very little in the way of fishing and boating items, and much in the way of Tshirts, and arts and crafts.  We spent as much on admission as we did in the place, and not one thing was purchased from our list.  Guess its back to Amazon shopping this next week.  We enjoyed the company, of course, and had a really good lunch at Hog Heaven before heading back.

Matt had to be back by 1pm for his rescue diver check outs.  It's an additional certification you can receive if you are a scuba diver.  Donnie went along to be the dummy diver in distress.  All went well, and Donnie got to get wet on the reef, so he was happy.  I, on the other hand, crashed for a nap in a HOT boat.  It was steamy down below, as our new AC has not been installed by Mr. Fix It.  Truthfully, I told him to not worry about it until after Mom leaves next week.  It's cooler at night, and it's comfortable for sleeping, so it's all good. The good news is I'm not smelling hot FUNK!  As for Willis, though, it's been too hot for him, too, as he has boycotted the boat. (It also could be that since he was seasick on his last trip, he is in the 'hate' phase of his love/hate relationship with Marquesa.)

Mom went to a Community Gospel Sing with Jean, as she was working a booth for the New Life Church.  She really enjoyed the music, and the good food, and she got her nap in their air conditioned condo in the afternoon.  The plan was to meet up to take her out for her birthday dinner at Sunset Grill, which we did.
We got there just in time for the 6:21pm sunset.
lovely
We toasted the sunset, and Mom's special day.  Mom enjoyed a pina
colada, and her favorite dinner, coconut shrimp :)
Afterwards, we celebrated with cake and ice cream, and presents,
with Mac & Jean, and Kenny & Fran.
Happy 78th Birthday, Mom. I love you!!!
