Taco Tuesday, only different!

It is most definitely SUMMER here in the Florida Keys.  It is nearly 90 every day (over that with the humidity and heat index), but thankfully there's a southern breeze.  It was 10-15 knots, with gusts up to 20 at times.  The wind was whistling in the rigging.  It would have been a beautiful day for a sail, but we had WORK to do.  I gave the "basement" a thorough cleaning.  Did laundry, too, between chores.  Donnie spent most of the day waxing, waxing, waxing.  The cockpit is now starting to shine, but the bow is still rather dull.  The fiberglass was so dry, it's just drinking in the wax.  Maybe three more coats?

We took a brief break to go to the library, pick up a few groceries and grab some lunch, then it was back to work.  Donnie went back to more waxing, while I detailed the new Jeep.  I scrubbed the upolstery, washed the windows, and armor-alled the dash, interior doors, tires, exterior bumpers and such.  I was a sweaty mess when all was said and done.  We had just enough time to take a quick dip in the pool before our dinner get together.

While we typically hit up Taco Tuesday at the Hurricane, tonight we were invited to Bryan and Polly's for fish tacos.  Actually, they hosted the whole McDaniel clan; Mamaw and Paps, Dave and Diane, Jay and Meagan and the babies, and Donnie and I.  Dinner was wonderful, (thank-you, Polly) and afterwards, the boys entertained us with some guitar playing.
That's enough finger foods, bring on the tacos!

Meagan and Reece were having some girl talk.

You guys know how to host a feed- it was delicious!
Bryan and Jay swapped Navy stories...swabbies!
How sweet...
Sophie horned in on what little 'couple time' they get :)
It had been twenty years, yet Stairway to Heaven still sounded great.

Even Paps took a turn with "Old Joe Clark" :)
Long after sundown, Jackson was sundowning and I was sundowning.  We have a big day tomorrow.  We plan to be on the road to Ft. Lauderdale by 9am.  We're going to spend the day with Dan and Biddi before we pick up Emily from the airport tomorrow evening.  Then it will be four fun-filled, jam-packed days in the sun with sweet Emily...I'd better get to bed to get rested up!

  1. Oh tell Dan & Biddie that "Blondie" and Greg say HI !!! We have missed hearing stories about them. At least you have the "Colts" jeep to get you there and back safe and sound.
