Gone shellin'

Today was another gorgeous day in paradise.  Sunny Florida has sure lived up to its name.  It seems it has been a month since there has been any real rainfall.  Every day this week has brought steady easterly winds, which keeps you pretty cool, suprisingly.  The ocean has really warmed up as well...no more wetsuits needed, that's for sure.  Watching the weather is a necessity when you live on a boat.  It determines what the day's activities are going to include.  Since it was quite windy today, it was pretty kicked up out on the reef.  There was a small craft advisory again, but that applies to watercraft under 26 feet.  Still, to be on a mooring ball could be pretty uncomfortable. So...we decided to head to the beach!  It wasn't so windy that the sand pelted you, but breezy enough to be comfortable for sunbathing.

Cheesin' for the camera    :-D
My girls insist on 'feets' pictures...look at that beautiful blue sky!
Now THAT's an impressive man sweater!
Emily and I spent much of the afternoon looking at the tiniest of shells.
It was like an Easter egg hunt, Keys style!
I will never tire of the beautiful shades of blue...these gulls have it made.
After the beach, we went to Mamaw and Paps for a fish fry...it was much
more than a fish fry- it was a feast!  Mamaw really out did herself.  Emily
couldn't wait to get her hands on baby Reece.  Mamaw was waiting
expectantly in the background to snatch her back :)
Lucky Emily got to feed her...such a sweet baby :)
Sophie was the number one girl, until Reece came along.
Reece is captivated by the ceiling fan...one day she will grow up, get married,
look at her ceiling fan and think, "When's the last time I dusted that d**n thing?!"
I must admit, Emily seems well suited for taking care of babies!
After dinner, Emily and I made a quick shopping trip out to Beall's, then back to the boat to just relax and watch "Girls Night Out", a salute to women in country music.  Donnie charted out a little course for us to take a sailing trip out to a key over here on the Gulf side.  It looks like it may still be kicked up on the Atlantic side, so we'll anchor out, take the dink, and do some snorkeling.  G'nite all!

  1. Our job is complete. If you are so tuned into country music that you are watching the specials with all of the other "country nuts". You have officially "Gone Country". (Name the artist...of that song..)
    I am impressed.
