Intervention

This is the position Willis was in when we woke up this morning.
Keep this in mind- it will become significant later today,
as the pieces of the puzzle all begin to fall into place.
I was cleaning the galley after breakfast, when I
heard Bonnie on the docks say, "Here's a manatee!"
That's a pretty sweet face...
Of course, I had to get in on the action :)
This gentle giant, at least ten feet long, and about 1000 lbs.,
flopped on his back like a Willis...awwww.....
His 'snout' was short, bristley 'hairs' that look like spikes... if you
weren't careful, he'd grab the hose with them, and it was like a
death grip- Bonnie had to really pull and pull to get him to let go.
I think this one had a drinking problem.
Like Manni, like Willis...so cute.  Manni was
definitely female, as you could see her poocat.
She also was doing a duece, but I did not take
a pic of that...she requested some privacy.
(besides, she had a bad cut-off. ewww....)
So much excitement, so early in the morning.
AIS was 10:00am, as the gang was heading to Burdine's for lunch
on Danny's boat.  Pictured here is Biddi, Danny's sister Cindy, my honey,
and Captain Danny.  It was a beautiful day for a boat ride. Still
windy and a bit choppy, but it was getting hot already this morning.
Time to break out the new bikini and work on some tan lines!
The fisherman were out pulling lobster pots today.
It got a little bouncy once we crossed from the
Gulf side into the Atlantic.
We turned into that 20-30 mph ENE wind, too.  My hair was a tangled mess.
The wind helped to turn the boat up against
the dock.  Danny can 'park' Biddi and the
Beast' like a champ :)
Ready for lunch!
The deep fried key lime cheesecake, easily enough for two people.
Only the Best. Dessert. EVER.
Past Marathon Marina on our way out of Boot Key.  We checked it out
last year, 145 slips, a new pool, bigger laundromat, and a little less
expensive...But, they're packed in there like sardines.  We like
Banana Bay much better :)  Besides, we've got the best view, for sure.
This is the grand dame docked at the end of Marathon Marina.
We got home to find lots of prezzies in our cockpit!  Gotta love free
shipping through Amazon :)  Most of this is 'stuff' for the ditch
bag and the Bahamas trip in April.
Donnie came home and got wet, in search of
something good to eat, while I went searching
for a MIA Willy T...
Well, the cat is out of the bag, so to speak.  I found him at Mangrove
Mama's.  Do you see him?  And the evidence?  He was caught red-
handed.  It seems that since his best dancer left for New Orleans
from the Kit Kat GoGo Lounge, he has been in mourning.  He had that
brief stint with Peg Leg and One Eye shooting dice by the dumpster.
But, what he's really been up to is spending my laundry money on
Corona Lights.  Since he has no opposable thumbs, he became a
two fisted drinker right from the get-go.  What's a momma to do?!
Donnie, Danny, and I staged an intervention at 2130.  He was having
none of it.  He can be a really stubborn puss when we wants to be.
At first he didn't say too much...he just was trying to 'wait Momma out'
while she went on her rant.  Then he was true to addict form... he
got defensive, he lied, he projected, he rationalized, he minimized, he
cried, and then he got really belligerent and went on a rant himself.
While Danny and Donnie kept their cool, Momma finally had
enough. She and Dad left him for the time being to 'think about
things' while they went for a power walk on the seven
mile bridge.  We all needed a cooling off period.
By the time we got home, this is where we found him....
sleeping it off.  So Willis' day ended pretty much ended the
way it had started.  At least now we know WHY.
