Those of you who are boaters, know that BOAT stands for Break Out Another Thousand, and today was no exception. Thankfully, this thousand bucks was not for a repair or a boatyard bill. We can check off another item on our to-do list. Donnie looked at some more boatyards to store Marquesa for the next eight months. It was looking like about $300/mo. no matter where we went, plus the $250 to have it hauled out....and then he had another brainchild. The first idea was to check with the owners of the condo that Mamaw & Paps rent, as there is a very nice, long, cement dock behind them. Long story short, that wasn't going to work as they have some boats coming in there...however...the neighbors on the other side of his sister did have dock space available, but we had to make a decision today, as they are returning to their home in CT tomorrow morning. Before the sun set, we ran a check over to them. It's a good deal for both of us; they did some repairs and updating to their dock this winter and were able to recoup some of that expense, and we are able to store Marquesa there, with shore power, for half the rate that boatyards are asking. Both parties are satisfied, so that decision is to-done! Now to find a vehicle to drive home; in the next sixteen days. This might prove a little trickier.

Since Mom had the checkbook out today, Willis was looking longingly
outside, hoping I'd be willing to part with a few quarters; no deal. |

We had quite the gathering out on "our" pointe, waiting for the sunset this evening. |
|
It proved to be another spectacular sunset, right from our bow. |

The reflection of the sun on the water looked like lava. This photo
doesn't do it justice...it was amazing. |

Later this evening, my honey and I enjoyed the hotub and band playing
by the pool. We met the most interesting fellow from Alaska. His
stories kept us entertained long past the point of being prune-y! |
Today I worked on bills and letter writing, and this afternoon I oiled the teak topside. Tomorrow brings a few wiring projects, and we need to track down some more lines for Marquesa to have available in the event she needs cross tied in the canal in a hurricane. I'm hoping we can either go paddleboarding, or take Willis for a dink ride. We might even got to the seven mile bridge for some geocaching. Or we could simply hang out by the pool just as well. Who knows what tomorrow will bring? We're clearly on 'island time' these days. I hate there's only sixteen of them left to go....
Are you going to let Willis have a few quarters and a last run before you guys leave so he can tell his new buddies bye? He may have Kitty Go Go Lounge withdrawls when you get home. Sorry your adventure is almost over but just think, not much longer and it will be time to go again on a longer and farther trip!!
