We side-stepped a bit on the return trip home in search of a key deer to show Dean on the way back to Banana Bay. They live in about a three mile area on Big Pine Key. Sure enough, we found one!
He's about the size of Simon, our little buddy at home! |
we decided to take it easy by the pool for a few hours after lunch on the boat. No napping in sight, there were too many people to talk to! About mid-afternoon we opted to take the dinghy over to Burdine's for some of their world famous fries with fry dust. I am serious, they really ARE world famous :) Since we have a little 2.5 horse motor on the dinghy, powered by only one squirrel, we travel only slightly faster than the speed of smell- perfect for sight seeing! Dean loved it, well, we all did, until we hit the 7 mile bridge and turned into the easterly wind and waves....then it was a wet, chilly ride. The fries were well worth it, and the dinghy was safely delivered to Dave and Diane's dock about three hours later, just before sundown. We warmed ourselves in the hot tub back at Banana Bay, visited some more, then headed back to the boat so I could fix dinner. Spaghetti, salad, garlic bread and wine topped off another beautiful day in paradise. Tomorrow, the boys are going diving and hunting for hog fish or snapper with their spear guns. Willis and I are opting out, I think. After three days of steady hard winds here, I'm afraid it will still be rocking and rolling out there. Getting seasick does not sound like fun; Willis agrees.
Welcome to paradise, Dean! |
Aww. Tell Dean I said hi :)
