God is good!

We got two bits of good news today- finally!!!  Paps had a nuclear scan  and a bone scan on Tuesday, to determine if the prostate cancer has metastasized anywhere else.  NOPE, IT HASN'T!!! PTL!!!  He now has another pill to add to his regimen, and a shot every three months, but there is no need to pursue treatment any further.  That is good news indeed!  Mamaw has really gotten on board in the last week in Paps meal and snack preparations, and his sugar is also leveling out.  It seems all medical concerns have been addressed, and it's just a matter of settling into a new lifestyle, in so far as his daily diet is concerned.  Diabetes is not something to be trifled with; as Paps found out the hard way.

The second bit of good news is a report from Miami on our friend, Bill.  If you remember, he was in a bicycle/car accident last Friday.  He'd been missing for three days, before it was finally discovered that he was in ICU in Miami.  While he is still in a medically induced coma, and is on a ventilator, it is not life sustaining, as we had thought earlier in the week.  He remains in critical care, and he still suffers from severe brain trauma and swelling.  However, Greg and Corinna got the go ahead today from the nursing staff that he is stable enough for them to now visit.  They are anxious to see him, and simply hold his hand at his bedside.  I cannot imagine being in a fight for your life, and having no friend or family member there to support you.  I would ask that you continue to pray for Bill, and his healing.  His prognosis is still not known, as he is at the hands of his doctors there and the Great Physician.  Please continue to hold him up in prayer with me. Add Greg and Corinna too, the stress on them has been tremendous.

While Paps' health seems to be stable, Donnie and I are again looking to make a hop across the Gulf to the Bahamas.  We still have a number of boat issues to address, but we are hoping to look for a weather window within the next two weeks.  That would allow us at least a month of cruising in the Abacos.  Our plan would be to then hop back in the Gulf Stream and ride it up to the Jacksonville area where we will haul out Marquesa for storage on the hard while we are in China next year.  There are a hundred and one details to work out these next two weeks, but Cap'n and I are anxious to get off the dock!  Willis is ready, too; he already has his cruising permit and veterinary certificate to enter the Bahamas :)

Cap', changed out the switch on our bilge pump, as it had not been coming on automatically as of late.  We'd have to manually hit the bilge a few times a day, else our toes would be underwater in the salon.  That's a worrisome thought- we want to keep the water OUT of Marquesa!  I'm glad that one's fixed.  He gave the bilge a thorough cleaning with some Dawn dish soap, too, while he was at it.

Look who came back for breakfast this morning!  Donnie fed her some
Romaine lettuce- it beats the heck out of sea grass.

I gave her just a little drink to wash her breakfast down.

Soon she lumbered away, looking for the next snack.

After Donnie and I had lunch, he decided to tear into the bilge project, which
tears up every walking surface in the salon.  I bailed on him, and met the
gang at the pool for some chickenfoot and swim time :)  Lucille killed us all!

The boys were deep in thought about politics, fishing, and other important matters.

After Lucille thumped us, Donnie and Richie went diving around the rocks
on the Pointe looking for lobster. I was busy in the galley makin' Cap'n
one of his favorite dinners- cubed steak in a tomato and vegetable base
with homemade mashed potatoes.  I use a fork and a baby wire whisk to whip
up the potatoes on Marquesa; it works :)

Got one!  Actually, they caught ten between the two of
them, but six were released to grow some more.  They
weren't of legal size.  I'll just keep throwing my table
scraps off the Pointe!  Donnie gave the four lobsters to
Richie for he and Edie's dinner tonight.  Nothing like
fresh lobster out of the ocean :)

Though there was no green flash tonight, I simply
marveled at the beauty of the sky, the sun, the water.
God is faithful.  God is good.  All the time.
G'nite, y'all!
