got dinked

We've been hearing pounding across the way, and it looks
like the boatyard next door is getting a makeover.  The
crane is holding pilings, and they've been getting pounded
into the coral and sandy bottom.  Maybe they are adding
boat slips?  Or channel markers for the entrance?  Dunno.

It was a pretty calm (and hot) afternoon, so my Cap'n and I decided to go for
a dink ride.  He has yet to visit Crane Point, and I wanted to see it up close from
the water.  I didn't see any cool fish in the lagoon or under the bridge today.

Though we dinked up a channel we'd never been in before and saw this jellyfish :)

It looked like the Scouts were having a camp out for the weekend at Crane Pointe.
It's a win/win for them.  They get to camp out in a beautiful nature preserve
with the use of the facilities and watersports, and in turn, Crane Pointe benefits
from the manpower for clean up and maintenance projects when they visit.
We dinked around the shoreline and checked out another
resort and such, then decided to go out around Rachel Key
on our way back.  It was covered with pelicans, seagulls,
cranes, and cormorants.  Stinky bird key.  And then we got dinked.

We ran out of gas and Cap'n paddled at least a mile back to Banana Bay.
I offered to paddle, too, as the sweat was pouring off of him.  He would
have none of it.  He wore blisters on his left fingers, so I gave him the
coozie off of my water bottle to wear like a glove.  It worked :)
Necessity is the motherhood of invention, they say.

This was taken just before we ran out of gas.  Happy, happy here.
Not so happy, happy, about 10 minutes after this was taken, lol.
We drug our sorry, sweaty selves to the pool and promptly dove
in to cool off.  The pool has never felt so good.  We both kept
moaning and saying "ahhhhhh".  We're ridiculous.

We were invited to happy hour on The Office, the boat
belonging to Sonny, Jean, and this little sweetie, Sue-sea.
Normally she doesn't warm up to people.  That obviously
was not a problem; she knew we are puppy people :)
She gave and got a hundred kisses from Momma K.

There's a large school of mullet in the marina, that were
making a racket.  Sue-sea was on high alert!
We enjoyed making new friends this evening.  Sonny
was most helpful in talking with Donnie about long term
storage and how to prep Bessie and such.  Sweet people.

We had a late fish dinner with fried potatoes and peas.  There
wasn't a speck leftover for Willis T.  Delicious!
G'nite, y'all!
