...on our departure to the Bahamas! This morning, Donnie tended to a few boat projects before we left for Key West to get our ID cards with Customs and Border Protection. We received our decal for Marquesa the end of last week.
|
Donnie replaced our mainsheet- thanks to Matt for sewing the eye for us :) |
|
He also mounted our Yeti cooler to the deck...this became significant later. |
|
Our appointment with Customs was at the Key West Int'l airport. As we
walked past baggage claim, this fella was looking longingly into the
window- he was waiting for his mail order bride from Guatemala. |
|
After a little finger printing, and picture taking, we got our cards! |
|
We stopped at Mangrove Mama's for some amazing chicken quesadillas :) |
|
Today the 'weather balloon' was low in the sky with its cameras
trained to our neighbors to the South. |
|
We ran several errands this afternoon on our way home- West Marine,
Daffy's, Walgreen's and Publix for groceries. Wouldn't you know,
as I'm unloading the groceries, the refrigerator had been OUT all day,
AGAIN. I unloaded the freezer that was nearly all thawed out, and took
it to Kenny and Fran's freezer. I then loaded up with ice, and moved
everything else into the Yeti and our drinks cooler. Mr. Fix It went to
work on the wiring again- the dive gear knocked the connections loose. |
|
While I was fixing dinner, I looked out to see the sun setting-
Stop everything! Gotta go have a look! |
|
The sun was 'melting' into the ocean; it was
looking promising for a green flash. |
|
The water was flat, the sky was clear at the
horizon...and though I didn't capture it, we had
a green flash! That's two nights in a row :) |
|
What a beautiful evening sky... God is good. |
|
The beautiful moment of the sunset was lost, as we turned to walk back to
our boat...Willy T was making a deposit in Mayor Dan's Paradise Pointe
front yard. When the Mayor is away, the cat will play- not nicely. Dern cat.
G'nite, y'all! |
