Today, Caesar came bright and early and did the final touches on Bessie. We are back in business! However, it was blowing stink this morning, so the sea trial was out. We went and saw Luis and settled up the tab...we managed to save about $1200, but still it cost us five B.O.A.T.S. I keep telling myself, "peace of mind, peace of mind, peace of mind". New Bessie, new canvas, new sails....she is dressed up and ready for a party in the Abacos later this spring :)
Donnie needed to replace that diaphragm for the dinghy engine, which required a trip to Big Pine Key. We decided to make an outing of it, with Mom and Em.
We stopped at the Blue Hole to see the gators...this was a small one. |
Isn't she a beauty? And a college graduate. With honors. Not that I'm proud of her or anything. |
And then we saw this little girl...isn't she cuuuuute?! |
Such a sweet face...about the same size as Simon. Adorable. |
She had an itch... |
Getting to baby talk to a little dee r made Mom's day :) |
She's posing here. Her knobby knees and skinny ankles cracked us up. Em named her Lucy. |
We loved her. Obviously.
No, I did not try to feed Lucy a peanut butter cracker. I did not. |
Late in the afternoon we got Mom and Em settled into their room at Black Fin. Mayor Dan got Mom taken care of for her month long stay. Then tonight was Friday night pizza night with 'the gang.' Nancy and Ron, Kenny's sister and brother-in-law just got in from NJ, and we all had a lot of laughs and ate a lot of pizza at Upper Crust. Good times! |
When we got home, Willis was not interested in watching Blue Bloods with Dad or playing Scrabble with sissy. |
He doesn't like the light in his eyes. When it's time to sleep; it's time to sleep...if you're a Willis. |
He was deep in REM, dreaming of being a pirate cat sailing the high seas...AAAAARGH! G'nite, y'all! |
