Donnie left with Kenny this morning to go to a few garage sales. He came home with some goodies for the boat...a trolling lure for when we go across the Gulfstream (hope we catch something good to eat!), a battery tester to keep on the boat, a thermometer for the salon, and a couple of horn cleats for the dock we plan to store Marquesa at in May.
I feel badly for those vacationing down in the Keys right now. I'm not sure it got up to 63 today. As the afternoon wore on, the wind picked up even more, out of our least favorite direction, N/NW. We have the furnace on tonight, for the second time this season. Boo to that nonsense :(

One of the items on our to do list is to track down a small leak we have in the intake hose leading to the galley faucet. We only have a problem when we are hooked up to water on the dock. As it is, the bilge kicks on about every hour or so. The plus side is we have a clean bilge, the down side we need to find that leak! As it turns out, it seems there is no way to access the hose entirely, as it is under and behind the dry storage locker and the port side water tank. So, we didn't fix the leak, but we found two cases of water I had squirreled away and forgot about when we went to the Bahamas last April!
I also found a sack of sheets and hospital gowns that Diane had given me last year. I spent the next hour or so tearing them up into rags. One can never have enough rags on a boat, that's for dang sure- our supply was nearly gone.
After our afternoon naps, Cap'n got a burst of energy to start waxing the cockpit. After four coats of wax, he's still not done, but it is looking SO much better! Look in the background at how the palm trees are blowing in this cold north wind.
Tonight I fixed a teriyaki chicken stir fry for dinner with brown rice. A hot meal hit the spot on a cold night It reminded us of coming down the ICW in January 2011- now THAT was cold!
Willis T had no trouble turning in early tonight either- his ears were cold! For some reason he chose to perch himself on Dad's guitar case. Dern cat. Cap'n and I went to the grocery for a few things, and ran into Big Ron and Chuckie baby. We all lamented about the cold. It is unusually cold for this time of year. On the radio I heard, "If your winter coat is more than 10 years old, you know you're in conch country!" While it is just 59 right now, you'd think a blizzard was on its way given how people are bundled up down here- myself included! Well, I'm getting my jammies on and turning in with a good book, while Cap'n is enjoying his (ridiculous) vampire redbox movie. G'nite, y'all!
